A rapid rise in value
General Intuition, a New York-based startup developing foundation models for AI agents, is reportedly raising funding at a pre-money valuation of $6 billion. New investors Valor Equity Partners, Point72 Ventures, and Seven Seven Six are joining in, alongside existing investors Khosla Ventures and General Catalyst.
That's a striking jump: just in June of this year, the company raised $320 million at a $2.3 billion valuation.
From game clips to robotics
General Intuition was founded in October 2025 by CEO Pim de Witte, as a spinoff of Medal, a platform where gamers share their gameplay clips. The company uses the hundreds of millions of hours of footage from Medal, together with so-called "action labels" — recorded data on exactly what players did and when — to train AI models.
Focus on robotics
The new capital will go mainly toward improving the company's general model, with a stronger emphasis on robotics applications. The company is also investing in compute, including through a partnership with CoreWeave, and in attracting talent.
Investor confidence
Khosla Ventures investor Vinod Khosla has previously stressed that these kinds of action labels are essential to what he calls "the emergence of intuition" — the ability of models to generalize to tasks they have never seen before. The round has not yet closed, but is said to be oversubscribed given the strong investor interest.
