Google DeepMind has introduced Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash, a major update aimed at giving developers enhanced control over generative video workflows. Available through Google AI Studio and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, the production-ready model offers targeted capabilities designed for media production, design suites, and rapid creative prototyping.
Extended Storytelling and Keyframe Precision
A primary highlight of Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash is scene extension. Developers can now extend existing video clips in 10-second increments up to a total length of 40 seconds. To maintain visual and narrative continuity, the model analyzes up to 10 seconds of prior contextual video, a significant increase from the single-second memory limit of earlier iterations.
The updated model also introduces keyframe control. By specifying exact starting and ending frames, creators can direct smooth camera trajectoriesâsuch as orbit shots, zoom cuts, or seamless loopsâwithout relying entirely on text prompts. Furthermore, developers can supply up to three seconds of reference video to keep characters and environmental details consistent across generated frames.
Faster Prototyping and High-Resolution Output
To streamline developer iteration, Google DeepMind has introduced a low-resolution 360p draft mode. This lightweight tier renders video previews up to 60 percent faster and at one-third the cost of standard 720p output. This allows creators and developers to rapidly test concepts and iterate on storyboards before committing compute resources to final renders.
When projects are finalized, Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash supports high-resolution upscaling to 1080p and 4K outputs, making generated assets suitable for professional broadcasts and production platforms.
Ecosystem Integration
Industry partners are already embedding the updated model into creative workflows. Adobe is integrating Gemini Omni Flash into Adobe Firefly, while design platform Figma Weave is utilizing its reference capabilities to let teams direct continuous video iterations. Other creative platforms, including Runway and GMI Cloud, have also adopted the model to enhance their generative toolsets.
Beyond developer APIs, Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash and its scene extension features are rolling out to Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers through Google Flow and the standard Gemini app.
